Function and Efficacy
1. Treat metabolic acidosis. This product can increase the bicarbonate concentration in plasma, neutralize hydrogen ions, and thus correct acidosis. 2. Alkalize urine. When this product is used, the bicarbonate concentration in urine increases, and the pH of urine increases, making it difficult for uric acid, sulfonamides, and hemoglobin to form crystals or aggregate in urine. 3. Antacid. Oral administration can quickly neutralize or buffer gastric acid without directly affecting gastric acid secretion. As a result, the pH in the stomach increases rapidly, relieving symptoms caused by high gastric acid. Pharmacokinetics: This product can be excreted by the kidneys in the form of bicarbonate, and can also be excreted from the body by the lungs in the form of carbon dioxide.

Appearance
This product is white tablets with a special mint odor.
Indication
It is used to alkalinize urine and acidemia, and can also be used for excessive gastric acid.
Usage and Dosage
1 Adults ⑴ Antacid, 0.25 (2g, 3 times a day). ⑵ Alkalize urine, 4g for the first time, 1-2g every 4 hours thereafter. ⑶ Metabolic acidosis, 0.5 (2g, 3 times a day). The maximum daily dosage for adults is 16.6g (200mmol sodium) for those under 60 years old and 8.3g (100mmol sodium) for those over 60 years old; used as an antacid, it should be taken 1-3 hours after meals and before bedtime. The maximum dose is generally not more than 2 weeks unless under the supervision of a doctor. 2 Children ⑴ Antacid, there is no unified dose for children under 6 years old. 0.5g for those aged 6-12 years old, which can be repeated every half an hour. ⑵ Alkalize urine, 1-10mmol/kg of body weight per day. ⑶ Treat acidosis, refer to the adult dose.
Adverse Reactions
1. When the dosage is too large or there is renal insufficiency, edema, mental symptoms, muscle pain or convulsion, slow breathing, bad breath, abnormal fatigue and weakness may occur, mainly due to metabolic alkalosis. 2. Long-term use may cause frequent urination, urgency, persistent headache, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, abnormal fatigue and weakness. 3. When taken orally, a large amount of CO2 is produced in the stomach, causing hiccups, gastrointestinal inflation, etc. Less common symptoms are gastric cramps and thirst (extracellular sodium concentration causes cell dehydration).
Precautions
Pregnant women should use it with caution. Use with caution in the following situations: 1. Oliguria or anuria, because it can increase the sodium load; 2. Sodium retention and edema, such as cirrhosis, congestive heart failure, renal insufficiency, pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome; 3. Hypertension, because the increase in sodium load may aggravate hypertension; 4. Patients with appendicitis or similar symptoms who have not been diagnosed and those with unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding should not take the drug orally, because the abdominal distension and abdominal pain caused by this product will affect the diagnosis of the disease.

Drug Interactions
1 When used in combination with adrenocortical hormones (especially those with strong mineralocorticoid effects), adrenocorticotropic hormone, and androgens, hypernatremia and edema are likely to occur. 2 When used in combination with amphetamine and quinidine, the latter two are excreted less through the kidneys and are prone to toxic effects. 3 When used in combination with anticoagulants such as warfarin and M cholinesterase drugs, the absorption of the latter is reduced. 4 When used in combination with calcium-containing drugs, milk and dairy products, milk-alkali syndrome may occur. 5 When used in combination with H2 receptor antagonists such as cimetidine and ranitidine, the absorption of the latter is reduced. 6 When used in combination with potassium-excreting diuretics, the risk of hypochloremic alkalosis is increased. 7 This product can alkalinize the urine and affect the excretion of ephedrine by the kidneys, so the dose of ephedrine should be reduced when used in combination. 8 Reduce the absorption of oral iron preparations, and the two drugs should be taken as far apart as possible. 9 Increase the oral absorption of levodopa. 10 Increased sodium load increases lithium excretion by the kidneys, so when used in combination with lithium preparations, the dosage of lithium preparations should be adjusted as appropriate. 11 Alkalinizing urine can inhibit the conversion of urotropine into formaldehyde, thereby inhibiting its therapeutic effect, so the combination of the two drugs is not recommended. 12 Increase the excretion of salicylic acid preparations by the kidneys.
