Function and Efficacy

It is a derivative of ethanolamine. Its antihistamine effect is not as good as promethazine, and its duration of action is also shorter. The two drugs have the same sedative effect, and have local anesthetic, antiemetic and anti-M cholinergic effects. Appearance

This product is a sugar-coated tablet, which appears white after removing the sugar coating.

Indication

It is mainly used for: skin and mucous membrane allergies, such as urticaria, angioedema, allergic rhinitis, pruritus, drug rash, and is also effective for insect bites and contact dermatitis; prevention and treatment of motion sickness, with a strong antiemetic effect; Parkinson's disease and extrapyramidal symptoms; sedation, hypnosis; strengthening the effect of antitussive drugs, suitable for treating coughs caused by colds or allergies.

Usage and Dosage

The usual dose for adults is to take the medicine orally after meals, 25-50 mg (1-2 tablets) at a time, 2-3 times a day.

Adverse Reactions

(1) Common symptoms include: central nervous system depression, ataxia, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. (2) Rare symptoms include: shortness of breath, chest tightness, cough, dystonia, etc. There are reports that trismus and laryngeal spasm may occur after administration. (3) Occasionally, it may cause rash, neutropenia, anemia and heart rate disturbances.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for patients with myasthenia gravis, angle-closure glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, those who are allergic to this product and excipients, newborns, and premature infants.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: It is forbidden to use in newborns and premature infants. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: (1) Taking this product during pregnancy may increase the incidence of cleft palate, inguinal hernia and urogenital malformations in infants, so pregnant women should use it with caution; (2) A small amount of this product can be excreted in breast milk, so it should not be used by lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: It may cause slow reaction, dizziness, etc.

Drug Interactions

(1) This product can temporarily affect the absorption of barbiturates and sodium sulfacetamide. (2) When used together with sodium para-aminosalicylate, it can reduce the latter's blood concentration. (3) It can enhance the effects of central nervous system depressants.
