Blood preservation solution (Ⅰ)

Function and Efficacy

This product is also known as ACD-A formula. Calcium is an essential substance in the coagulation process and can promote the formation of thrombin (coagulation factor III), thrombin and fibrin, as well as activate platelets to release coagulation factor reactions. The citrate ion of this product reacts with calcium ions in the blood to form a soluble complex, calcium citrate, which is difficult to dissociate. This complex is easily soluble in water but not easy to dissociate, which reduces the calcium ions in the blood and inhibits the coagulation process, thereby preventing blood coagulation. Citric acid forms a buffer pair with sodium citrate to adjust and stabilize the pH of the solution. Sodium citrate is generally completely oxidized and metabolized in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, and its oxidation rate is close to the normal transfusion rate. The toxic dose of sodium citrate for healthy adults is about 15g, which is equivalent to 4000~5000ml of sodium citrate anticoagulant blood.

Ingredients

This product is a compound preparation, and its main components of 1000ml are: sodium citrate (C6H5O7Na3·2H2O) 22.0g, citric acid (C6H8O7·H2O) 8.0g, and glucose (C6H12O6·H2O) 24.5g.

Appearance

This product is a colorless or almost colorless clear liquid.

Indication

It is suitable for in vitro blood anticoagulation. It is mainly used for the apheresis of various blood components, such as platelets, plasma, red blood cells, in vitro blood stem cells, etc.

Usage and Dosage

The recommended ratio of this product for in vitro blood anticoagulation to whole blood is 1:8~12.

Adverse Reactions

At normal blood transfusion speed, this product will not cause obvious adverse reactions. When a large amount of blood preserved with this product is rapidly transfused, the recipient may experience numbness of the lips, convulsions of the hands and feet, decreased blood pressure, ventricular fibrillation or cardiac arrest due to low blood calcium because citrate cannot be oxidized in time.

Precautions

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product and its ingredients.

Drug Interactions

Not yet clear.

Storage

Sealed and stored in a cool and dark place. Validity period: two years.
