The content of Eugenol supplied by our company is 99%, the chemical name is: 4-Allyl-2-methoxyphenol, it is a colorless or light yellow liquid with a lilac smell, the chemical formula is C10H12O2, and the melting point is -9.2℃ to -9.1 °C, the boiling point is 253.2 °C, the relative density is 1.065 (25℃/25°C), and the refractive index is 1.5410. Eugenol is miscible with alcohol, ether, chloroform, and volatile oil, soluble in glacial acetic acid and caustic alkali solution, and insoluble in water. It has antibacterial and antiviral effects; as an edible spice, it can also be made into unilateral essential oils of many flowers, can be used to prepare gypsophila-shaped spices, and can also be used to prepare strong-flavored dried fruits, etc.

Pharmacological Effects:

♔  Antibacterial: at the concentration of 1:8000~1:16000, it can inhibit pathogenic fungi; at the concentration of 1:2000~1:8000, it can inhibit Staphylococcus aureus, pneumonia and dysentery (Shiga low) , large intestine, deformation, tuberculosis and other bacilli have inhibitory effect.

♔  Stomach Strengthening: 5% emulsion can significantly increase gastric mucus secretion without increasing acidity.

♔  Intravenous injection in rabbits can produce anesthesia, lower blood pressure, respiratory depression and anticonvulsant effects, but subcutaneous injection in mice does not produce anesthesia. In vitro, muscle specimen experiments show that it has a strong antihistamine effect.

After acetylation and mild oxidation, the α-propylene group is broken to obtain vanillin, which is the main component of an important artificial flavoring agent. Eugenol can also be used to manufacture isoniazid, a specific drug for the treatment of tuberculosis.
