Syn-Ake is a small molecular weight synthetic peptide that smoothens expression lines by topical application. It mimics the activity of Waglerin-1, a natural occurring peptide found in temple viper venom which has a strong ability to relax muscle contraction.

Mechanism of Action

Syn-Ake acetate acts as a muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR) antagonist. It binds to the ε subunit of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) on the postsynaptic membrane, blocking the binding of acetylcholine. This leads to the closure of the receptor, preventing sodium ion intake and muscle depolarization, ultimately resulting in muscle relaxation.
