What is Magnesium Stearate ?

Magnesium stearate is a white, easy, and sand-free fine powder; it has a slight special smell; it has a slippery touch in contact with the skin.

This product is insoluble in water or ether, and is mainly used as a lubricant, anti-sticking agent, and glidant. It is especially suitable for the granulation of oils and extracts drugs, and the prepared granules have good fluidity and compressibility. Used as a glidant in direct compression.
