1. Description

Nicotinamide riboside chloride is a chlorinated salt form of nicotinamide riboside and belongs to the pyrimidine nucleoside derivatives of vitamin B3 (niacin). It appears as a white to off-white or light brown powder and is soluble in water (≥90 mg/mL) and dimethyl sulfoxide (50–255 mg/mL) . As an orally active precursor of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), this compound effectively increases intracellular NAD+ levels and activates deacetylases such as SIRT1 and SIRT3. Storage conditions require protection from light and moisture in a sealed container at -20°C; the powder form has a shelf life of 3 years, while solutions prepared in solvents can be stored at -80°C for 1 year.
