Methods of Manufacturing

Resorcinol can be reacted with acetic acid with the participation of zinc chloride (acetylation) to produce 2, 4-dihydroxyacetophenone, and then react with benzoyl chloride to produce 2, 4-bis(benzoyloxy)benzene Ethyl ketone, and then molecular rearrangement (benzoyl transposition) in acetone under the action of potassium hydroxide to prepare the product.
