N,4-Dimethylbenzylamine Use and Manufacturing
To a stirred solution of 4-methylbenzyl chloride (2.5 g, 17.85 mmol) in EtOH (15 ml) was added 40 percent methylamine solution (5 ml) and stirred for 4 h . It was monitored by thin layer chromatography. The reaction mixture was evaporated, quenched with water (30 ml) and extracted in dichloromethane (2x 25 ml). The combined organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under vacuo to afford yellow oil (2.1 g, 87percent).To a stirred solution of 4-methylbenzyl chloride (2.5 g, 17.85 mmol) in EtOH (15 ml) was added 40 percent methylamine solution (5 ml) and stilted for 4 h.
