EU reached an agreement to ban the production of new fuel vehicles from 2035
On October 28, the European Union reached an agreement to effectively ban the production of new fuel vehicles from 2035, marking an important step on the road to reducing emissions. On Thursday, the main European Union agencies reached an agreement requiring automobile manufacturers to achieve zero emissions by 2035. The agreement requires the EU to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2050. The spokesman of the Czech Republic, the rotating presidency of the EU, said, "This is the beginning of a major transition for the EU," said Jane Whitma, the chief negotiator of the European Parliament, "This shows that this proposal is feasible. More than a year ago, as part of the EU's economic green reform, the agreement was one of the most controversial proposals in the EU. Now, the adoption of the agreement marks the unexpected rapid progress of the proposal."
