$11 billion! DuPont completed most of the business of selling the transportation and materials department
On November 1, DuPont announced that it had completed the divestiture of most businesses under the former transportation and materials department. This part of the business was sold to Celanese at a transaction price of $11 billion in cash.
In February this year, DuPont announced that it had reached an agreement with Celanese to divest most of the business of the transportation and materials department to Celanese. The transaction includes some products of engineering plastics business, high-performance resin and advanced solutions business. The net sales of these businesses in 2021 will be about 3.5 billion dollars, and the EBITDA will be about 800 million dollars.
