DuPont launches Tyvek TrifectaA2 fire-resistant breathable membrane
DuPont Performance Building Solutions, a leading innovator in materials science, announces the launch of the latest generation of breathable membranes, Tyvek® Trifecta™. This innovative product provides excellent fire safety and moisture protection, making it an ideal solution for high-rise building cladding, and comes in a convenient and lightweight roll size of 1.5mx 25m.
Tyvek® Trifecta™ is a non-combustible breathable membrane designed to provide all the benefits of standard Tyvek® breathable membranes but with Class A2-s1, d0 fire resistance in accordance with the current European fire classification standard EN 13501-1. It goes beyond current UK building regulations, which require membranes to meet Class B standards.
DuPont Tyvek Trifecta is paired with DuPont AirGuard A2 FR AVCL to create a complete Class A membrane system. DuPont AirGuard FR System Tape further enhances the system's fire and moisture resistance, helping to make it safe for use in all building types, including high-rise buildings, single-story residences, commercial projects, hotels, hospitals and schools.
Tyvek Trifecta is also UV resistant for 12 months, providing wiggle room in project timing while supporting high-quality façade installations by protecting the structure during construction.
It has excellent moisture management properties and is rated W1 waterproof in accordance with EN13859-2. Coupled with the product's low vapor resistance, it provides an excellent solution for secondary weatherproofing in exterior wall systems.
"Tyvek Trifecta provides an excellent solution to help building owners provide fire safety protection for those using their buildings," said Andrea Albert, head of EMEA marketing for DuPont Shelter Solutions.
"This product demonstrates our commitment to developing solutions that help improve fire safety and moisture protection standards in the construction industry," added Albert.
