Japanese carbon black companies start to raise prices
Tokai Carbon raises carbon black prices in the Japanese market
According to Japan Tokai Carbon Corporation, from May 1, 2020, all types of carbon black sold in the Japanese market will be increased by 6.0 yen per kg (about 400 yuan per ton).
The company said in its price adjustment notice that the price index used in the previous price adjustment formula is no longer available due to the impact of the IMO ’s stricter regulations on the sulfur content of marine fuel oil. Therefore, from this time on, the crude oil index will be used to revise and adjust the carbon black price. This price increase is necessary to ensure that Donghai Carbon provides stable and reliable high-quality products and services.
Asahi Carbon Black's comprehensive price adjustment pigment varieties rose sharply
According to the Japanese Asahi Carbon Company announced on April 9th, the carbon black price will be adjusted from May 1st. The price increase this time is: the price of each kind of rubber is increased by 1.1 yen per kg (about 70 yuan per ton), and the non-rubber RCF (common pigment furnace black) is increased by 10 yen (about each Tons increased by RMB 650), non-rubber MCF and LFF (medium pigment furnace black and long flow furnace black) increased by 12 yen (approximately RMB 800 per ton), non-rubber HCF (high pigment furnace black) increased 15 yen (approximately increased by 1,000 yuan per ton).
The company stated that it plans to adjust the carbon black price every 6 months according to the price fluctuations in the raw oil market. With the implementation of the new regulations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the carbon black raw material oil trading market has also been affected, and the company has also accepted the price index changes requested by the raw oil manufacturers. Therefore, the purchase cost of raw oil has increased, and in order to continue to provide stable supply to customers in the future, this price revision has been implemented.
