Givaudan acquires Indina's beauty ingredients business
On May 29th, Swiss time, Givaudan announced that it has completed the acquisition of the cosmetic raw materials business of Italian centenary plant raw material company Indena.
Headquartered in Milan, Italy, Indina focuses on exploring, developing, and producing plant-active raw materials to serve industries such as personal care, medicine, and health food. The company has extensive expertise in the field of natural products and has a century of experience in plant raw materials.
The two sides also signed a long-term cooperation agreement, indina will continue to produce raw materials for Givaudan, and provide innovative technical services and other support.
Maurizio Volpi, President of the Fragrance Division at Givaudan, said: "The acquisition of Indina's cosmetic raw materials business is in line with our long-term strategy for Active Beauty business ... This expands the variety of plant-based raw materials for the active beauty business and complements our existing product portfolio. "
Daniele Giavini, Executive Director of Indina added: "We have always supported this transaction because Indina can use this to fully focus on management and expand the growing core market, namely medicine and health food market."
Although the terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, on the assumption that Indina's cosmetic raw materials business can increase Givaudan's 2019 results by 8 million euros in revenue.
