Lanxess double growth in sales and profits
Lanxess released its financial report showing that the company's sales in the third quarter increased from 1.581 billion euros in the same period last year to 2.185 billion euros, an increase of 38.2%; the profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in the normal business scope reached 240 million euros, which is the same as that of the previous year. Compared with 229 million euros in the same period of the previous year, it increased by 4.8%.
Lanxess said that in addition to the additive business, the consumer protection business segment performed well. The acquisition of the microbial control business of the American International Flavors and Fragrances Company completed this year, and the acquisition of the Emerald Kalama Chemical business completed in 2021, have helped this business sector achieve good returns.
Chang Mutian, Chairman of the Board of Management of LANXESS Group: "In the middle of this year, we once again strengthened our consumer protection business segment by acquiring the microbiological control business of American International Flavors and Fragrances. However, we have already seen weaker demand in some regions. , sales were down overall. In the fourth quarter, with further energy price increases and the threat of a recession, the situation will be even tougher."
