The EU revised the lipid and magnesium requirements for total dietary alternatives for weight control
The Official Journal of the European Union reported on November 9, 2022, on August 30, the European Commission issued Authorization Regulation (EU) 2022/2182, amending the lipid and magnesium requirements of Authorization Regulation (EU) 2017/1798 on total dietary alternatives for weight control. Annex I of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/1798 is amended to read as follows: (1) point 4.1 is deleted; (2) point 4.2 is amended to read as follows: The total dietary substitute for weight control products contains α-linolenic acid in the total daily diet shall not be less than 0.8 g. (3) In point 6, the second paragraph is amended to read as follows: The total dietary substitute for weight control products shall not exceed 350 mg of magnesium in the total daily diet. The Regulation enters into force on the twentieth day after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. The entire content of the Regulation is binding and directly applicable to all Member States.
