Singapore suspended imports of poultry products from areas affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks in the UK

foodmate 2022-11-28

On November 23, 2022, the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) announced that temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and their products near the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the United Kingdom have been imposed.

Due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 in 36 areas of the UK, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and their products within 10 kilometres of the affected areas. Heat-treated poultry products that meet the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) avian influenza virus inactivation requirements will not be affected by import restrictions.
