Singapore has adjusted its import restrictions on poultry products from areas affected by the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in France
On 23 December 2022, the Food Authority of Singapore (SFA) announced the imposition of temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and its products from the vicinity of the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in France.
Due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in the French province of Thorne-Loire, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on imports of poultry and their products from affected areas. Poultry products that meet the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) avian influenza virus inactivation requirements for heat treatment will not be affected by import restrictions.
Poultry products exported from the department of Thorne-Loire before December 7, 2022 and killed before November 23, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import.
In addition, it is learnt that on 28 September 2022, Singapore imposed temporary import restrictions on poultry and its products from areas affected by the H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in the Department of Meuse, France.
Now that the outbreak in the region has been resolved, the Food Authority of Singapore said the above import restrictions were lifted.
