foodmate 2022-12-28

On 23 December 2022, the Food Authority of Singapore (SFA) announced the suspension of imports of poultry and products from areas near the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the United States.
As a result of the highly pathogenic H5 avian influenza outbreaks in Sauk County, Iowa; Cherokee County, Iowa; Provese County, Colorado; Osage County, Missouri; Ada County, Iowa; and Wadina County, Minnesota in the United States, Singapore will impose temporary restrictions on the import of poultry and its products within 10km of the affected areas. Poultry products that meet the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) avian influenza virus inactivation requirements for heat treatment will not be affected by import restrictions.
Poultry products exported from Sauk County, Iowa before December 7, 2022, and killed before November 23, 2022, will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from Cherokee County, Iowa before December 7, 2022, and killed before November 23, 2022, will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from Provese County, Colorado before December 9, 2022 and killed before November 25, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from Osage County, Missouri, before December 9, 2022 and killed before November 25, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import. Poultry products exported from Ada County, Iowa, before December 12, 2022 and killed before November 28, 2022 will continue to be accepted for import.
