Dubai clean energy power generation accounts for 14% of total power generation
Dubai's clean energy power generation with photovoltaic solar (PV) and concentrated solar (CSP) reached 2027 MW. This accounts for about 14%of Dubai's total power generation.
According to a report from WAM, the General Manager and CEO of Dubai Power and Water Resources Administration (DEWA) Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, In the solar park of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum), this is the largest single -venue solar park in the world using an independent generator (IPP) model. By 2030, its photovoltaic solar panel and CSP technology will have 5,000 MW power generation capabilities.
Al Tayer checked the work progress of the fourth stage of the park, and 417 MW has been connected to the DEWA power grid. Among them, 217 MW come from photovoltaic solar panels, and 200 MW came from a concentrated solar panel with parabolic pool. The fourth stage of the solar park has been completed 92%. Al Tayer met with DEWA's UAE employees who received training in the fourth stage of solar parks. This stage is executed by Noor Energy 1. DEWA holds 51%of the company's shares, ACWA POWER holds 25%, and the Silk Road Fund holds 24%.
Al Tayer also inspected the fifth stage of the solar park, and DEWA had connected 600 MW power to its power grid. The fifth stage of the total power generation was 900 MW and invested 2.058 billion Dram (US $ 560 million). The fifth stage of the 300 MW third phase has been completed by 52.9%, which will be put into production in 2023.
It adopts the latest solar photovoltaic double -sided technology, single -axis tracking to increase energy output. It will provide clean energy for more than 270,000 residents in Dubai, reducing 1.18 million tons of carbon emissions each year.
Al Tayer said that according to the vision and instructions of His Royal His Royal His Royal His Highness of Dubai, Prime Minister and rulers of Dubai, to carry out work and instructions to promote sustainability and sustainable green economy to promote sustainability and sustainable green economy transition. We achieve this goal by making energy diversification and increasing renewable energy and clean energy in the Dubai energy portfolio. This has realized the "Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050" and "Dubai's Dubai's Zero Carbon Emissions 2050". By 2050, 100%of Dubai's power production capacity will come from clean energy. Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is the most important clean energy project implemented by DEWA. It aims to achieve this goal and consolidate Dubai's position as a smart and sustainable city. It is also the first choice of life, work, investment and tourism.
He added that since its launch, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park has attracted great interest in global developers, which reflects investors from all over the world. Confidence of major projects. Through this model, DEWA has attracted about 40 billion Dram investment, and has obtained the world's lowest solar price (balanced cost) for five consecutive times, making Dubai the benchmark for global solar prices.
According to the IPP model, the fourth stage of the solar park has a power generation of 950 MW and an investment of 15.78 billion Diram. It is the world's largest single -site solar CSP power plant. It combines CSP and solar photovoltaic technology. Three hybrid technologies were used at this stage: 600 MW from parabolic noodle pool complex (three 200 MW units), 100 MW from the world's highest 262.44 meters of solar power generation tower (based on melting salt technology), 250 MWwa From photovoltaic solar panels. After completion, the project will have the world's largest 15 -hour heat storage capacity and can provide energy around the clock. The fourth stage will provide clean energy for about 320,000 residents, reducing 1.6 million tons of carbon emissions each year.
