Kangqiao's Pyraclostrobin EC successfully registered in Canada, milestone in the North American market

In August 2022, the PMRA of Health Canada officially approved the registration of Kangqiao’s Pyraclostrobin 250 EC (Registration number: 34601). This is another important breakthrough for the company to promote in the North American market after Pyraclostrobin technical was independently registered in Canada (registration number: 33728) in March 2020.

Pyraclostrobin is widely used in the world, has been registered in more than 80 countries on more than 180 crops. It also is a high activity, high efficiency, low toxicity, broad spectrum of universal fungicide. Pyraclostrobin has protective and therapeutic effects. It has good osmosis and absorption effect and shows good activity against almost all fungal diseases. In 2016, the global sales of Pyraclostrobin reached $750 million, making it the fifth largest fungicide in the world. 

Chinese companies have accelerated the distribution of Pyraclostrobin since its patent protection in China expired in 2015. As the most important manufacturer of Pyraclostrobin in China, Shandong Kangqiao has been focusing on the process and formulation innovation of Pyraclostrobin and other advantageous varieties. In 2011, the company successfully developed Pyraclostrobin, and applied for invention patent in 2014, and licensed both the technical and the formulation in 2015. At present, the company has a 1,500 ton/a production capacity of Pyraclostrobin. The applied crops have expanded from the initial application of fruit trees and fields to the registration of medicinal materials, flowers and other crops.

In the future, Shandong Kangqiao will continue to take the innovative road of integration of technical formulation around the important varieties such as Pyraclostrobin, Spirodiclofen and Thifluzamide, and continue to explore along the route of improving quality, reducing cost and increasing efficiency. At the same time, we will carry out independent product registration in more overseas markets such as the EU and Brazil, laying a solid foundation for international development.
