The chemical market fell slightly

soutuliao 2023-02-08

The domestic chemical market fell slightly, and the chemical product price index (CCPI) closed at 4890 points, down 0.8%.

Among the important chemical products monitored, a total of 32 products rose, accounting for 51.6%, and the top products were acrylic acid (10.0%), polymeric MDI (9.2%) and 1,4-butanediol (BDO 9.1%); A total of 24 products declined, accounting for 38.7%, and the top product with the largest decline was styrene (5.6%).

The acrylic market extended its rally last week. The raw material propylene remained at a high level during the week, and the cost of acrylic acid was strongly supported. The holder's quotation is stable and narrow upward, and the low price is reluctant to sell. There is some spot procurement demand downstream, but the acceptance of high prices is still limited. It is expected that the acrylic acid market may be run in the short term.

The aggregate MDI market was volatile. There is no significant change in the production equipment, and the supply in the field is still tight. Traders were affected by the increase in the price guidance of the supply side, and the center of gravity of the offer was generally high. Downstream maintenance is mainly based on just procurement. It is expected that the short-term convergence MDI market may maintain an upward trend.

The styrene market turned back. After the holiday, the inventory of the main port of styrene increased widely, the terminal demand has not yet recovered, the finished product inventory of downstream factories is high, the order sales are not good, the purchase of styrene is not active, and the price of styrene fluctuates and falls. It is expected that there is a possibility of a rebound in the styrene market in the future.
