It is reported that the central pump of Covestro's 300,000-ton/year TDI device in Germany suddenly failed. The device has been shut down for maintenance on the 12th. The company has officially announced force majeure on TDI-related products on October 13.
It is currently difficult for the company to predict how long this failure will last, but it can be expected that this will have a great impact on the supply of its TDI-related products and cause significant delays in the shipment of related products.
In addition, since the company had just conducted an annual maintenance in early October (the central pump that had a problem this time was not within the scope of the maintenance), the safety stock was low, and the company may not be able to guarantee timely delivery during the period of force majeure, and it may not be able to deliver in extreme cases. . The company is studying related solutions and will notify relevant customers as early as possible.
