EU approves L-methionine as an animal feed additive
According to the Official Journal of the European Union, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) Regulation No. 2020/1497, which approved a type of L-methionine (L-methionine) as feed for all animals in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and the Council additive.
According to regulations, this L-methionine is produced by Corynebacterium glutamicum strain KCCM 80 184 and Escherichia coli KCCM 80 096. According to the conditions specified in the appendix, this additive is authorized as an animal nutrition additive to belong to the category of "nutrition additives", and the functional group is "amino acids, amino acid salts and their analogs." The authorization end date is May 11, 2030. This regulation shall take effect on the twentieth day from the date of issuance.
