Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project Started Successfully
On August 30, PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical's 600,000-ton/year ethane-to-ethylene plant in Tarim produced qualified ethylene products. This is PetroChina’s largest single-investment refining and chemical project in southern Xinjiang, and the annual ethylene production capacity of Dushanzi Petrochemical Company has reached a new level of 2 million tons.
Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim Ethane to Ethylene Project with a total investment of 8.04 billion yuan, covering an area of 2216 mu, consists of three main sets of 600,000 tons/year ethylene, 300,000 tons/year high-density polyethylene, and 300,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene. This project is a key project of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and PetroChina, and is listed as a national demonstration project of ethane cracking to ethylene by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The project is located in Shangku Industrial Park, Korla City, Bayingoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang. Based on the rich natural gas resources of the Tarim Oilfield, construction started on June 19, 2019, and CCCC was fully completed on July 17 this year. After the project is put into production, it is estimated that the annual output value is 5 billion yuan, and the annual taxes and fees are nearly 700 million yuan. An industrial cluster led and led by ethylene can be formed in southern Xinjiang.
The first ethane-to-ethylene autonomous project started successfully
On August 3, the Changqing Ethane to Ethylene Project of PetroChina Lanzhou Petrochemical Company was put into operation and produced qualified ethylene products. This is my country's first ethane-to-ethylene plant with independent intellectual property rights and included in the national demonstration project.
The total investment of the project is about 10.4 billion yuan, consisting of 800,000 tons/year ethane cracking to produce ethylene, 400,000 tons/year high-density polyethylene, 400,000 tons/year full-density polyethylene and other equipment, public works, and supporting auxiliary facilities. . The production process adopts the ethylene cracking technology independently developed by PetroChina, and the main technical and economic indicators such as ethylene yield and comprehensive energy consumption will reach the world's advanced level.
The Changqing Ethane-to-Ethylene Project was listed by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as the National Demonstration Project of Ethane Cracking to Ethylene. The first large-scale refining and chemical project was completed and put into production during the 14th Five-Year Plan.
On the morning of August 10, the first batch of 96 tons of high-density polyethylene products of the project was supplied to the market.
