Akzo Nobel acquires NNC, North America's top yacht coating manufacturer

On December 23, AkzoNobel announced that it will expand its presence in the North American yacht coatings market after agreeing to acquire New Nautical Coatings, the owner of the Sea Hawk premium brand ("NNC"). Financial details were not disclosed.

This private company is one of the top companies in the North American yacht coating industry. The company operates specialized production facilities outside of Clearwater Beach, Florida, and operates mainly in North America, with sales in the Caribbean and Oceania. With its excellent quality and product performance, the Sea Hawk brand has won high customer loyalty from yacht owners, shipyards and maintenance service providers.

Akzo Nobel CEO Thierry Vanlancker said: "North America is a key region for our yacht coatings business. It is the world's largest yacht coatings market. Therefore, this is a very cost-effective transaction that perfectly complements our business. Provides excellent growth opportunities."
