Choripan, an Argentine sausage hot dog, was named the best hot dog in the world
"Choripan", an Argentine sausage dog, won the world's best hot dog list by Taste Atlas.
"Choripan," Argentina's most iconic street food, is a combination of the words chorizo (sausage) and pan (bread). As the name suggests, it is a grilled sausage wrapped in crispy bread and then coated with various sauces, according to Argentine website infobae. This famous snack is sold on the streets throughout Latin America.
The "Choripan" topped the list, beating out other famous hot dogs such as Perrito caliente estilo Chicago (second) and Perro caliente colombiano (third).
For the recipe, Taste Atlas suggests that the "Choripan" is perfect for dipping in Chimichurri and serving with a glass of Pais.
Pais IS A grape variety introduced from Spain to South America. This wine is fresh, light to medium bodied, and full of fruit, with earthy and herbaceous notes.
In addition, Taste Atlas recommends several local restaurants and bars to sample "Choripan" These include Nuestra Parrilla, Alameda Costanera Sur, Chori, La Cabrera, El Desnivel, La Reverde and La Gringa.
