The Chinese website of World Agrochemical Network reports:

Bexoveld™active extends Corteva's third generation of 6-arylpicolinate herbicides

New and effective options for broadleaf weed control will be provided to grain farmers

Corteva is introducing Bexoveld™active, the latest herbicide brand in its innovative product line. This active ingredient will provide grain growers with another tool to control broadleaf weeds. Pending regulatory review, Bexoveld is expected to be available in North America in 2028 and in Europe in 2030.

Bexoveld is a new proprietary molecule discovered by Cordiva and is a third generation 6-arylpyridinate (6-AP) herbicide developed on the basis of Arylex™active (chloropyridine ester) and Rinskor™active (chloropyridine ester) herbicides.

Bexoveld has demonstrated excellent control of broadleaf weeds, including resistant weeds important in cereal crops. Under low-use applications, the product was effective against the top broadleaf weeds in North American cereal crops: landskin, poppy, Arabina, and wild mustard, which are common weeds affecting wheat, rye, triticale, and barley in Europe.

"Bexoveld demonstrates Cordiva's commitment to providing farmers with innovative, sustainable plant protection solutions, and with Bexoveld, Cordiva will continue to create value in the grain herbicide market by providing broader weed control through differentiated products," said Robert King, Executive Vice President of Cordiva's Plant protection Business.

"We are excited about the new auxin herbicides that are coming to market," said Sam Eathington, Chief Technology and Digital Officer at Cordiwal. The new molecules will interact with the auxin receptor in unique ways, providing resistance management and differentiated properties, while meeting Corteva's criteria for sustainable innovation."

Arylpicolinate herbicides are well known for their favorable regulatory, toxicological, and environmental profiles. Bexoveld stands out among the auxin-based herbicides due to its low dose utilization and excellent potency. Bexoveld can decompose rapidly in the soil, meaning there is little restriction on the next crop. Residual levels of Bexoveld and its metabolites in cereals were below defined standards.

Bexoveld is highly complementary to Corteva's current portfolio of grain herbicides and will be available in premixed formulation form with the company's leading herbicides.
