Nouryon Begins Full-Scale Production at Expancel

Nouryon held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its expandable microsphere production plant in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA, on October 30, 2023. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Nouryon executives Attended the ceremony. This marks the official start of operations at the facility, which is designed to serve North American specialty additives customers.

Nouryon is a leading global specialty chemicals company with more than four decades of experience in the manufacturing of expandable microspheres. The company opened construction on its Expancel brand expandable microspheres plant on Cornell Road about 18 months ago.

Expancel brand expandable microspheres are used as lightweight fillers and foaming agents to make products lighter, improve insulation and increase light reflection, thereby achieving energy conservation, cost reduction, efficiency improvement and environmental protection. It can be used in cold roof coatings, automotive coatings, curbside recyclable packaging and body fillers.
