Nortox launches New bactericide Scudeiro in Brazil (Prothioconazole + Tebuconazole)
Recently, Brazil's Nortox company disclosed that it launched the fungicide Scudeiro (Prothioconazole + Tebuconazole) in Brazil.
Scudeiro is a broad-spectrum endofungicide registered for use in crops such as cotton, corn, wheat, barley and sorghum against target leaf spot and Asian rust without the use of adjuvants.
Developed by a collaborative trial of 27 research institutions in Brazil, Scudeiro has a differentiated formulation that has proven its effectiveness in the control of target leaf spot and Asian rust, as well as its selectivity in soybean cultivation.
Nortox said some major diseases such as soybeans, cotton, corn and wheat can remain in crops for a year or more, so there is a need for integrated management of these diseases, such as target spot and Asian rust.
Nortox has conducted a variety of combination trials across all types of fungicides and concluded that a combination of two triazole fungicides, Prothioconazole and Tebuconazole, is the best choice for controlling target spot and rust without significant risk of resistance.
Nortox also said that the Department of Agriculture has designated Scudeiro as a priority product due to its unique and unprecedented formulation and technology.
