Novoloop and Aether enable continuous operation of pilot plant
Plastics circular economy technology company Novoloop recently announced the successful launch of a pilot plant in India in partnership with listed specialty chemicals manufacturer Aether Industries.
The plant was completed in March 2024 after construction was announced in January 2024. The pilot plant is now in continuous operation, recycling commercially representative waste feedstocks.
This milestone marks the successful transition from batch reactions to integrated automated factories and validates Novoloop’s pioneering lifecycle technology. Novoloop’s process converts post-consumer polyethylene plastic waste into virgin-quality monomers for high-performance materials, reducing the carbon footprint by up to 91% compared to traditional processes for producing adipic acid.
Miranda Wang, co-founder and CEO of Novoloop, commented: “After years of research, development and engineering, we have established a radically innovative process and now our pilot plant is successfully demonstrating this technology paradigm shift. We are excited about We are very excited about the next chapter as we deliver the first Lifecycled products to the world.”
