On June 21, SIPCAM held a herbicide on-site observation meeting in Jiangdu District, Yangzhou City, to demonstrate the effect of its application in machine-transplanted rice fields and live broadcast paddy fields.


The herbicide launched by SIPCAM is composed of  Mefenacet-Bensulfuron methyl-Benzobicyclon, which can not only block ununearthed weeds, but also kill unearthed weeds. The control effect of the antagonistic weed such as Leptochloa chinensis and Scirpus juncoides Roxb is outstanding. It had significant inhibitory effect on weedy of paddy. The suitable period of application is wide and the duration of effect is long. The duration of effect of application can reach 6 ~ 8 weeks at 2 ~ 5 leaf stage.

 

The results of field experiments showed that herbicide was effective against many kinds of weeds, such as Leptochloa chinensis and Scirpus juncoides Roxb, and had a long duration, which could reduce the number of pesticide use. The herbicide is very safe for paddy in both large and high doses and is very suitable for flight control. It can not only better kill the new weeds after a letter, but also achieve a better secondary closure effect, and generally do not need to carry out stem and leaf treatment in the later period, which can reduce the weeding pressure of farmers, and is also very safe for paddy. In terms of production, it is still more recommended that growers use this herbicide for two sealing on the basis of machine transplanting paddy fields with conventional pesticide.

 

Feng Jinrui, technical manager of East China region of SPICAM, said that in order to better play the blocking effect, it is necessary to retain water for 5 to 7 days after using this herbicide, because Benzobicyclon itself has no herbicidal activity, and it is necessary to hydrolyze Benzobicyclon with herbicidal activity in water, which affects plant photosynthesis through a series of reactions, resulting in weed poisoning, bleaching and dying.

 

SPICAM said that this product advantages are obvious, the company will continue to enrich the herbicide product line, the follow-up in rice, wheat will have 2 to 3 new products on the market.
