L Catterton Acquires Stripes Beauty
L Catterton acquires Stripes Beauty. This will increase the brand's investment in healthy aging innovation and science-backed solutions.
Actress and women's health advocate Naomi Watts founded Stripes Beauty in 2022. The brand aims to normalize the conversation about menopause and other symptoms related to natural hormonal changes as women age.
Naomi Watts said:"This is an exciting time for Stripes Beauty and I am grateful to L Catterton for believing in our brand and sharing our vision to support women going through menopause. The mission, products and community of Stripes Beauty mean a lot to me and I am excited to partner with L Catterton who are also committed to providing solutions for this underserved community."
Through this strategic alliance, L Catterton will drive growth for the brand under the new leadership of Executive Chairman Debra Perelman (former Revlon CEO) and President Cara Kamenev (former L'Oréal executive), both of whom bring extensive beauty, strategy, retail and operations experience. With L Catterton's financial support, Stripes Beauty will continue to build on this success, accelerate growth in both domestic and international business, drive marketing investment and team expansion, develop innovative channels, and serve existing and new customers in accessible luxury channels.
Whitney Casey, who led the transaction for L Catterton, commented: "As consumer-focused investors, we have been following Stripes Beauty's success and believe in their mission to build a community that supports women as they age. We are proud to invest in women and contribute to the development of a wellness platform that addresses the diverse needs of women's unique lifestyles. Led by a strong team of industry experts, we will nurture and grow the Stripes Beauty brand, its community and consumer loyalty." Stripes Beauty will expand into the sleep support space with The Dream Date, a clinically-backed supplement with melatonin, magnesium and red clover to help you fall asleep and stay asleep. In addition to scaling up in DTC and on Amazon, the brand will also launch on QVC and Canada later this year.
