SENASA has introduced a new resolution 694/2024 that will recognize the results of isocertification of chemical or biological active ingredients in plant protection products (pesticides) in third countries.

Syngenta recently announced that two of its innovative active ingredients, Isocycloseram and Cyclobutrifluram, are awaiting registration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use in the specialty solutions market. On June 27, 2024, the Tax Bureau of the Ministry of Finance of India issued Circular No. 10/2024-Customs(ADD), saying that it accepted the final anti-dumping recommendation made by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India on March 28, 2024 on Sodium cyanide originating in or imported from China, the European Union, Japan and South Korea, and decided to impose anti-dumping duties on the products involved for a period of five years.

Corteva has launched an innovative barter trading program that aims to help farmers access agricultural inputs more efficiently through a new payment mechanism, while reducing their risk of price volatility in commodity markets. The program allows farmers to use grains harvested during the 2024/25 season, such as soybeans and corn, as a means of payment in exchange for agricultural inputs such as pesticides, biologics and seeds.

Adama recently announced that its insecticide Magnum (Acephate) has successfully obtained registration extensions for beans and peanut crops in Brazil. The approval makes Magnum an important tool for managing major pests of these crops, including aleyrodid (Bemisia tabaci), leaf hoppers (Empoasca kraemeri) and thrips (Enneothrips flavens). These pests seriously threaten the productivity of related crops.
