Syensqo launches circular Omnix ECHO solutions for home and consumer appliances
Syensqo, a leading global provider of advanced performance materials and chemical solutions, has announced the launch of five new high-performance ECHO grades as part of the company’s growing Omnix ECHO circular polymer portfolio.
These new sustainable products significantly reduce product carbon footprints thanks to mass balance (MB) allocated recycled content from post-consumer and/or post-industrial (PCR/PIR) sources, including fibers. They maintain the same mechanical properties and excellent flow properties as PA6 and PA66 fully virgin base materials.
The Omnix 1000 ECHO series – containing up to 98% mass balance (MB) allocated recycled content, reduces product carbon footprint (PCF) by up to 56% and is a drop-in replacement for conventional polyamide resins.
Omnix FC 6000 ECHO HPPA Series (Food Contact Certified) – Exceeds the performance of PA virgin materials and includes the industry’s first HPPA compounds with recycled content (33% and 34% lower PCF) that are certified for food contact.
Omnix 6000 ECHO HPPA Series (Non-Food Contact) – Offers the perfect balance of higher performance and lower product carbon footprint with up to 83% recycled content and 45% lower PCF assigned by mass balance (MB) compared to engineered polyamide PA6 or PA66 substrates.
“As brand owners and manufacturers seek to minimize the carbon footprint of their products, our Omnix ECHO range now offers a range of attractive ECHO solutions designed to deliver outstanding sustainability without compromising processability, dimensional stability, stiffness, impact strength or surface appearance,” said Ricardo Calumby, Syensqo’s Global Sustainability Marketing Manager. “The expanded ECHO portfolio confirms our industry-leading position as a sustainability innovator.”
The new Omnix ECHO range targets home appliances and consumer products such as drip and single-cup coffee makers, food processors and slow cookers, ovens and air fryers, kitchen robot chassis and kitchen appliances, and razor stands.
