United States Exempts Potassium Carbonate from Residue Limits

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued Regulation 2024-17003 on August 5, 2024, which specifically exempted Potassium Carbonate residue limits in food.

The Regulation states that when potassium carbonate is used as a biochemical fungicide and in accordance with label instructions and good agricultural practices, its residues in all food categories and on their surfaces will be exempted. This rule takes effect immediately from the date of publication, and any objections or requests for hearings against the decision need to be formally filed by October 4, 2024.
