Behind $40 Million Funding, Mstack Accelerates Chemical Supply Chain Transformation to Address Global Crisis!
The outbreak has revealed two core truths about manufacturing: supply chains are increasingly globalized, and chemical suppliers play an integral role in cross-industry supply chains. Given the ongoing challenges of losses and rising costs faced by large European chemical companies, and the "China +1" strategy incentivising companies to explore new markets, the diversification of chemical supply sources is accelerating.
Mstack, a customized manufacturing platform based in the United States, focuses on providing high-quality specialty chemical sourcing services to buyers worldwide. The company has been keen to capture this market opportunity, successfully raising $40 million in Series A funding to strengthen its mission to reshape and optimize the specialty chemicals supply chain system that has traditionally been weak.
The round was co-led by Lightspeed and Alpha Wave, and was backed by debt financing from HSBC Innovation Bank, as well as a range of high-profile angel investors. Mstack plans to use the funds to further expand its presence in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia, as well as strengthen and deepen its market position in the United States and other regions.
Bejul Somaia, Partner at Lightspeed, said: "Geopolitical shifts pose potential risks to supply chain stability in the global specialty chemicals market. In the face of the rapid growth in demand for these chemicals, it is particularly important to increase investment in research and development and open up new supply channels. As the first institutional investor in Mstack, we believe the company has tremendous potential to lead the industry's transformation. This financing will enable Mstack to fully leverage the potential of its technology-driven platform to conduct cutting-edge research and bring higher quality products to customers around the world."
Founded in 2022 by Shreyans Chopra, Mstack was born out of an insight into the rapidly growing global specialty chemicals market. Based on its proven capacity network in low-cost, high-quality regions such as India, the Middle East and Asia, the company provides medium and large enterprises with whole-chain specialty chemical solutions covering procurement, testing, transportation, delivery and tracking, effectively reducing the interference of geopolitical factors in their operations. This model not only enables Mstack to serve price-sensitive customers around the world at more competitive prices, but also ensures high standards of product quality, reliability and consistency.
In particular, Mstack has consolidated all of its business processes on a single platform, enabling centralized and transparent procurement and management of specialty chemicals. This innovation greatly increased the company's control over all aspects of the supply chain, ensuring the implementation of its "reliable, just-in-time delivery" value proposition. Mstack's product line currently covers oil and gas, coatings, water treatment, and home and personal care, and it plans to use this funding opportunity to further expand into emerging markets such as agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
While consolidating the chemical industry's cross-border supply chain advantages, Mstack is committed to strengthening its talent pool in the United States, building a strong leadership team across disciplines, and increasing investment in research and development. Shreyans Chopra, founder of the company, said: "This financing not only reflects investors' strong confidence in our vision and technology to transform global markets, but also provides strong support for our geographic expansion and research and development intensification." We will continue to innovate to respond to the changing needs of our customers. Our R&D team in India is working hard to commercialize a wide range of chemicals, and plans to build advanced laboratories in the future to drive innovation and intellectual property, as well as to provide customers with customized formulation and process innovation services through our on-demand service platform."
Navroz D. Udwadia, co-founder and partner of Alpha Wave Global, also expressed high expectations for the collaboration with Mstack: "We are proud to work with Mstack to shape the global chemical supply chain. The financing will help Mstack strengthen its collaboration with suppliers to drive new product development and innovation. We look forward to working closely with the Mstack team to bring more efficient and cost-effective solutions to customers around the world to maximize their return on investment."
With its advanced technology-driven model, strong research and development capabilities, careful expansion plans and ample capital reserves, Mstack is gradually rewriting the rules of global specialty chemical manufacturing and opening a new chapter in the development of the industry.
