KDC/One Acquires Laffon, Strengthening Cosmetic Packaging Capabilities
Canada-based Knowlton Development Corporation, Inc. (KDC/One), a leading global provider of custom formulation, packaging design and manufacturing solutions for many of the world’s leading beauty, personal care and home care brands, has agreed to acquire Italian cosmetic packaging manufacturing specialist Laffon Srl.
The acquisition further strengthens KDC/One’s packaging capabilities and builds on the company’s 2020 acquisition of HCT Group.
Founded in 1982, Laffon has earned a strong reputation for its cosmetic packaging produced in a highly automated production facility located north of Milan, Italy. With this strategic move, KDC/One aims to better meet the rapidly evolving market needs of its customers, who are increasingly seeking partners with regionalized capabilities.
"This strategic acquisition significantly enhances our ability to deliver innovative packaging solutions, complementing our full-service capabilities including creativity, design, formulation development and manufacturing," said Sandra Wisniewski, Global President, Beauty & Personal Care.
"This acquisition marks a new chapter for HCT. We are excited to expand our manufacturing capabilities into Europe and look forward to welcoming the talented Laffon team to the KDC/One family," said Denis Maurin, President, Sales & Innovation, HCT KDC/One.
"The addition of Laffon to our business means we can now offer our cosmetics customers a comprehensive, regional European end-to-end solution, increasing the flexibility of our service offering. In addition, Laffon fits perfectly with our commitment to deliver highly sustainable packaging solutions," he added.
Laffon's technical and automated production facilities specialize in injection molding, decoration and component assembly, as well as digital and screen printing.
