Roquette Beauté Opens Cosmetics Co-Innovation Center in Shanghai
Following the opening of its first specialized center in Paris in 2020, Roquette Beauté has expanded its global presence with the opening of its new co-innovation center in Shanghai, China, equipped with an application laboratory and testing center, including sensory analysis capabilities, to support the development of formulations for cosmetic, hair care, skin care and oral care applications.
Employing approximately ten cosmetic technical experts and combining the expertise of the Parisian beauty R&D team, the center aims to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing. The center will focus primarily on skin care, a core need for the Chinese market. Roquette Beauté aims to use the center to demonstrate the versatility of its ingredients in a variety of formulations.
"Chinese consumers are increasingly seeking innovative, sustainable and effective cosmetics, and we firmly believe that our expertise in botanical ingredients will meet this growing demand," said Bénédicte Courel, CEO of Roquette Beauté.
"The center is strategically located in Shanghai, one of the leading cosmetics hubs in China, enabling closer partnerships and collaborations with major global players as well as local start-ups."
The opening of the center is part of Roquette Beauté's ongoing development in China. The new facility will allow the company to strengthen its presence in a key region where the botanical cosmetic ingredients market has strong growth potential.
"Despite a slowdown in consumption in China since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese natural cosmetics market is still booming and has great potential in the coming years. We are very optimistic about the development of this market in the coming years and our ability to play an important role together with the key players," added Bénédicte.
