BASF Announces Price Hike of Up to 771.6 USD Per Ton for Engineering Plastics

ECHEMI 2025-03-11

Recently, BASF released a price increase notice indicating that it plans to raise prices for various engineering plastics compounded products in North America, as permitted by contracts. The products affected include PA6, PA66, PBT, PET, and POM, with the largest increases seen in PA and PBT, soaring by 771.6 USD per ton (approximately 5606.5 CNY per ton).

It is important to note that while this price hike does not affect the Greater China region, BASF had previously issued a price increase notification for the Asia-Pacific region on February 20. At that time, the company announced it would raise prices for Ultraform POM resin products by 350 USD per ton, roughly equivalent to 2542 CNY per ton. This adjustment took effect on March 1, 2025.

BASF’s ongoing adjustments reflect the dynamic nature of the engineering plastics market, highlighting the company's strategy to respond to fluctuating production costs and market demand.
