Gulbrandsen to Increase PE Wax Capacity and Build New Polymer Plant in India
Gulbrandsen, a global leader in the production of specialty polyethylene waxes and polymers, has announced plans to increase polyethylene wax production capacity and build a new functional polymer plant at its facility in Dahej, India.
The expansion, expected to be operational by mid-2026, will help Gulbrandsen increase its production of specialty polymers and waxes to meet growing global demand, ensure supply reliability and expand its product portfolio.
Specialty polymers and waxes are integral to materials that are essential in everyday life. End-use related product lines include expanded polystyrene (EPS), release agents, personal care and cosmetics, adhesives, inks and coatings.
"This investment underscores our commitment to serving our customers around the world," said Ron Hatchell, Global Business Director at Gulbrandsen. "By expanding our production capacity and diversifying our product offering, we are increasing our ability to meet evolving customer needs and solidify our leadership position in the industry."
In addition to this major expansion, Gulbrandsen recently completed a debottlenecking exercise, freeing up additional capacity at its existing wax plant in Vadodara.
The new facility in Dahej will feature state-of-the-art technology and adhere to the highest standards of safety and environmental sustainability, reflecting Gulbrandsen's commitment to responsible manufacturing.
