China Adds 8 Taiwanese Firms to Export Control List Effective Immediately All Dual-Use Exports Halted

ECHEMI 2025-07-10

On July 9, China’s Ministry of Commerce announced the addition of eight Taiwanese companies to its export control list, citing national security and international non-proliferation commitments. Effective immediately, all dual-use items—including goods with both civilian and military applications—are prohibited from being exported to these entities. Ongoing transactions must cease at once.

The companies impacted include Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. (AIDC), GEOSAT Aerospace & Technology, National Chung-Shan Institute of Science & Technology, JC Technology, CSBC Corporation, Jong Shyn Shipbuilding, Lungteh Shipbuilding, and Gong Wei Co. Only in exceptional cases may exporters apply for special approval from the Ministry.

This decisive action underscores Beijing’s intent to safeguard core interests and assert strict regulatory oversight over sensitive exports. The control list is in full effect from the date of announcement, signaling a significant escalation in cross-strait export scrutiny.
