Lido Support: August Palm Oil Prices Expected to Fluctuate and Rise

In early August, the palm oil market saw an upward trend. The news for Malaysian palm oil was mainly positive. Specifically, during August 1-10, 2025, Malaysia's palm oil exports increased by 23.3% compared to the previous period. Starting from August 10, strong overseas palm oil exports led to a strong rise in the market, with three consecutive days of increases. The Chinese palm oil futures market also heated up, and on August 13, the Dalian palm oil futures closed at 9,490 CNY/ton, up 156 CNY/ton, with the futures price continuously rising. The spot market followed the upward trend.

Mid-month, negative factors persisted, and after a rise in palm oil prices, a correction followed, with an overall decrease of about 100 CNY/ton. As of August 20th, the average market price of palm oil exceeded 9,500 CNY/ton, an increase of nearly 500 CNY/ton from the beginning of the month.

At the end of the month, terminal demand improved, but the boost from the foreign market was limited. With a tug-of-war between bulls and bears, the palm oil market remained volatile, with prices fluctuating mainly at high levels, staying between 9,500-9,600 CNY/ton.

Palm oil analysts believe: In September, terminal oil demand will increase, and external market bearish factors will dominate. The future palm oil market in China will still tend to operate with a strong fluctuation.
