IMCD to Acquire Tillmanns
IMCD has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Tillmanns’ shares.
Founded in 1940 and headquartered in Milan, Italy, Tillmanns is a well-established specialty chemicals distributor and a key partner for global suppliers and a broad customer base. The company’s operations are rooted in Italy and span markets including coatings, construction, food and nutrition, and water treatment.
Tillmanns offers a comprehensive product portfolio supported by a highly skilled team, technical expertise, long-standing partnerships, and strong commercial execution. The company also operates a logistics center and in-house R&D laboratory in Milan, providing advanced testing, customized formulations, and technical support to meet evolving market demands. In 2024, Tillmanns generated approximately €143 million in annual revenue.
The acquisition represents a strategic step for IMCD. It not only expands the company’s scale and market share in Italy but also unlocks growth potential and strategic opportunities across the industrial and food markets. Tillmanns’ premium positioning and exclusive supplier relationships align closely with IMCD’s ambition to deliver value-driven solutions, advanced digital capabilities, and extensive technical support to its customers and suppliers.
“This is a significant milestone in our expansion within the Italian market,” said Marcus Jordan, CEO of IMCD. “Tillmanns brings deep local expertise, a loyal customer base, and a strong platform for growth in industrial, water treatment, and food applications. They will be a valuable partner to our teams and suppliers in Italy. We are also thrilled to welcome a skilled and experienced team whose contributions will create real value and foster enduring relationships with our customers and suppliers.”
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
