Natural Rubber Market Prices Consolidate at High Levels

ECHEMI 2025-09-02

September 01, News

According to the commodity market analysis system, the Chinese natural rubber spot market has been consolidating at a high level recently (August 25 to September 1). As of September 1, the price of natural rubber in the Chinese market was around 14,958 CNY/ton, a decrease of 0.11% from 14,975 CNY/ton on August 25. The slight fluctuation in tire production provided a stable demand support for natural rubber; on the other hand, the firm prices of natural rubber raw materials continued to provide cost support. Additionally, with a slight decline in port inventory in China, the market sentiment improved, driving the natural rubber prices to probe higher. As of September 1, the mainstream prices for 2024 Guangken, Baodao, and Haibao full-cream rubber in the Qingdao area were 14,900 to 15,150 CNY/ton.

As of September 1, the price of latex in Thailand was 55.45 Thai baht per kilogram, an increase of 0.36% from 55.25 Thai baht per kilogram on August 25. Recently, due to the impact of rainfall and typhoons, the main rubber-producing areas outside China have seen new rubber production fall short of expectations, with raw material prices remaining high.

Recent natural rubber inventories (8.25~9.1) continued to decrease slightly, with market sentiment improving. As of August 31, 2025, the combined inventory volume of bonded and general trade natural rubber in the Qingdao area was 602,000 tons, a reduction of 4,000 tons from the previous period, down 0.6%.

Recently (August 25 to September 1), downstream tire production has seen minor adjustments, providing support for the natural rubber market. As of August 29, the semi-steel tire production rate of Chinese tire companies slightly increased to around 75%; in Shandong, the full-steel tire production rate of tire companies slightly decreased to about 63%.

Market Forecast: Currently, high global raw material prices in China and stable-to-moderate activity levels in downstream tire production are supporting natural rubber prices. Meanwhile, port inventories of natural rubber have slightly declined. As the peak season approaches, natural rubber prices are expected to fluctuate upward in the near term.
