This week, the price of petroleum coke from independent refineries in China has slightly increased
September 28, News
According to the commodity analysis system, the local refinery petroleum coke market saw a slight increase this week. As of September 28, the price of petroleum coke from local refineries in the Shandong market stood at 2,383.25 CNY per ton, up 1.09% from 2,357.50 CNY per ton on September 22.
This week, crude oil prices rose, primarily due to ongoing supply risks triggered by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, coupled with the possibility of escalating U.S. sanctions against certain oil-producing countries. Additionally, declining U.S. commercial crude oil inventories provided further support for oil prices.
This week, the coking market of local refineries in China has seen a slight increase, with refinery shipments being moderate. Recently, the prices of petcoke have fluctuated, showing both increases and decreases; recently, some refineries are conducting inventory clearance before the holiday, and given the cautious procurement from downstream, the support to the petcoke market is limited. Recently, the shipment of petcoke at ports has been acceptable, and the price of sponge coke continues to rise, with an increase in inquiries.
This week, the calcined coke market in China has been steadily rising, with downstream purchases being quite active, and manufacturers have a strong intention to increase prices for new orders.
The future forecast indicates that currently, some manufacturers have basically completed their orders during the holiday period, and there is still downstream demand, supporting the petroleum coke market. It is expected that in the near term, the petroleum coke will mainly maintain a stable trend.
