I. Price Trends

According to the commodity market analysis system, the price of pure benzene in Shandong region of China fell this month. The price on October 1st was 5848.67 CNY/ton; the price on October 31st was 5172 CNY/ton, a decrease of 11.57% from the beginning of the month.

2. Market Analysis

Pure benzene: Today, the price fluctuation in China's pure benzene market is limited. In East China, the spot market prices are mainly stable, with a reduction in short positions at the end of the month, leading to a relatively stable market. Recently, the sales situation in Shandong has been good, boosting market confidence, and local refining companies have slightly increased their prices. Sinopec's pure benzene prices in East China and South China remain stable at 5,450 CNY/ton, effective from October 21. It is expected that the pure benzene market will remain stable with slight fluctuations in the short term, and actual transactions will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

This month, Sinopec's pure benzene price was reduced by 300 CNY/ton to 5,450 CNY/ton in China.

III. Market Forecast

Crude Oil Futures: On October 30, international crude oil futures remained steady. The December contract for U.S. WTI crude oil settled at $60.57 per barrel, up $0.09. Meanwhile, the December Brent crude oil futures closed at $65.00 per barrel, gaining $0.05.

Foreign market benzene: On October 30, FOB Korea fell by $4 to $654 per ton, while CFR China dropped by $3 to $674 per ton. FOB Rotterdam remained steady at $680 per ton, and FOB U.S. Gulf stayed unchanged at 243 cents per gallon.

Overall outlook: The benzene market is expected to remain relatively stable in the short term, with traders adopting a wait-and-see approach as they monitor developments on both the cost and demand sides. Keep an eye on crude oil prices, global market trends, as well as any shifts in benzene production facilities and downstream industries—these factors will continue to influence benzene pricing.
