Givaudan has partnered with well-known Indian fragrance companies to transfer the production capacity of special daily chemical fragrances,

Swiss flavor and fragrance giant Givaudan announced on its official website on July 29 that it has signed a joint venture agreement with Indian fragrance company Privi Speciality Chemicals (hereinafter referred to as "Privi") to increase the production capacity of specialty daily chemical fragrances.

According to the agreement, the two parties will set up a new factory in Mahad, south of Mumbai, India to produce small batches of medium and highly complex daily chemical fragrances, which are also known as specialty fragrances.

Maurizio Volpi, President of Fragrance & Beauty, Givaudan, said: “The establishment of a joint venture in India this time has formed a global strategy for our continued expansion of production coverage. Support. Privi can not only provide perfect support in this area (for us), but is also very good at coping with the complex situation in the production of different batches of daily chemical fragrances. Through this contract, we will continue to upgrade the company's small-batch main products and continue to iterate. , To bring better fragrances to perfumers, and make their works more competitive in the market."


Givaudan said that in the next five years, the company will gradually transfer some small batches of products originally produced in Vernier, Switzerland to a new joint venture factory, allowing Swiss production facilities to focus on key strategic raw materials.

The predecessor of India Privi is Fairchem Speciality, which is a well-known aromatic chemical manufacturer in India. The company has production plants in Mahad, Maharashtra, and Jhagadia, Gujarat, in western India. In 1992, Privi began to produce aromatic chemicals. At that time, there were only two products, and it has grown to 50 types.

The company’s aromatic chemicals products include Amber fleur, acetates, Dihydromyrcenol, ionones, nitriles, sandalwood derivatives, Specialty Chemicals, etc., with a total annual production capacity of 31,000 tons. It can produce 25,000 tons of crude sulfate Turpentine/gum turpentine (which produces α & β pinene vertically).
