VOC is the abbreviation of the first letter of Volatile Organic Compounds. According to the definition of World Health Organization (WHO), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are all kinds of organic compounds with boiling point of 50 ~260 ~c at room temperature. In China, VOCs are all volatile organic compounds with saturated vapor pressure greater than 70 Pa at room temperature, boiling point below 260 C at normal pressure, or vapor pressure greater than or equal to 10 Pa at 20 C. They are usually classified into non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHCs), oxygen-containing organic compounds, halogenated hydrocarbons, nitrogen-containing organic compounds and sulfur-containing organic compounds. VOCs are involved in the formation of ozone and secondary aerosols in the atmospheric environment, and contribute significantly to regional ozone pollution and PM2.5 pollution. Most VOCs have unpleasant special odor, toxicity, irritation, teratogenicity and carcinogenicity, especially benzene, toluene and FORMALDEHYDE, which can cause great harm to human health. VOCs are important precursors leading to haze and photochemical smog in cities, mainly from coal chemical industry, petrochemical industry, fuel coating manufacturing, solvent manufacturing and use. In the face of increasingly serious AIR pollution, VOCs not only cause environmental problems, but also endanger the health of everyone. VOCs are complex and difficult to deal with. There are many kinds of treatment methods in the market, but the most effective and thorough solution is to use RTO technology to deal with them. There are two types of RTO in the market, one is bed type and the other is rotary type. There are two beds and three beds in bed type (or multi-bed type). However, with the increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements, two-bed type has been basically eliminated because it can not meet the standards. The three-bed type adds one room to the two-bed type foundation, two of the three rooms work, and the other one cleans up, which solves the problem that the original waste gas in the regenerative area is taken out without oxidation reaction. Because the three-chamber RTO exhaust inlet valve and clean gas outlet valve start at the same time, there is a very short process of exhaust gas intake and outlet short circuit in alternating work, resulting in a small amount of exhaust gas discharged with purified gas, so the peak purification efficiency of three-bed RTO switching is about 95%. Generally speaking, three-bed RTO can meet the current high standards of environmental protection treatment requirements under less stringent conditions. For bed RTO, it is theoretically possible to increase the number of oxidation chambers directly and more, which can improve the efficiency of waste gas purification, but the investment cost of equipment will increase a lot. Based on the structure of bed RTO, a 12-compartment RTO has been developed iteratively. The 12-compartment RTO regenerator adopts circular layout and uses a rotary valve instead of all lifting and switching valves, so it is named "rotary RTO". Compared with traditional bed RTO, rotary RTO has the advantages of stable and uniform air distribution, continuous intake and exhaust, and small fluctuation of pipe pressure. At the same time, the failure rate of rotary valve is greatly reduced compared with lifting switch valve. Rotary RTO is the most widely used processing equipment because of its small size and low energy consumption.

Purification efficiency and thermal efficiency are important working indicators of rotary RTO. Rotary valve is the key component to determine these two indicators in RTO equipment, the heart of rotary RTO and the core. The key to improve the purification efficiency and thermal efficiency is to improve the sealing of rotary valve. The rotary valves are mainly divided into stator and rotor. The stator is stationary, and the rotor rotates at a uniform speed driven by the frequency conversion motor. The gas is evenly distributed to the intake area, the outlet area, the purge area and the dead area. Rotary distribution valve has rubber contact seal and air curtain seal because of different sealing methods. The wind curtain sealed rotary valve was born in the early 1980s. As shown in Figure 1, uniform small holes were arranged between the intake area, the outlet area, the sweeping area and the dead area. High-pressure air was blown out from the small holes to form a wind curtain, which sealed the exhaust gas and purified gas. This kind of sealing method requires very high accuracy for structural parts. Generally, it is manufactured by precision processing of iron castings. Therefore, it increases the difficulty of debugging, and it is not guaranteed that an effective wind curtain can be formed when a factory is repaired again after a debugging. At the same time, because of the clearance between the blowholes, the surface seal can not be formed at the root of the wind curtain, so the RTO purification efficiency of the rotary valve can only reach 95%.
