Price Increase After The Year! Dow And DuPont Announced Price Hikes For PE/PA/PBT In February, Soaring Nearly 9,000
▶ DuPont sudden price increase letter! Up to 8880 CNY/ton!
On January 17, DuPont Transportation and Materials Division (M&M) issued a notice of price increases for PA, PBT, POM, TPC and other products, which will take effect from February 15, with a maximum increase of 8,880 CNY/ton!
▶ LyondellBasell announced that it has raised the February PE contract price, a cumulative increase of 1500!
It is reported that on January 19, local time, LyondellBasell stated in a letter to customers that starting from February 1, the prices of all grades of HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE sold in North America will be increased, of which LLDPE will increase the most. For $0.07/lb! In addition to the company's previous price increase notice in January, the cumulative increase has reached 0.11 US dollars / pound (about 1538 CNY/ton)!
This February price contract is a supplement to LyondellBasell's price increase of US$0.04/lb (about 559 CNY/ton) for the January contract, which means that the price of LLDPE has been raised by about 1,500 CNY/ton. .
According to local analysts in North America, LLDPE prices have risen sharply due to increasingly tight supply, force majeure events at Taiwan Plastics North America subsidiary's Point Comfort plant in Texas, and PMC Biogenix's polyolefin additives plant. Film-grade resins are also expected to be affected as supplies tighten following a fire last week and a subsequent force majeure event on product at the Memphis, Tennessee, plant.
▶ Dow Chemical raised the price of PE in February, up to 979 CNY/ton!
Dow said all polyethylene resins it sells in the U.S. and Canada will raise prices by $0.04/lb ($559/ton) from the $0.07/lb ($979/ton) announced in January. The price adjustment will take effect on February 1.
Local institutions believe that North American polyolefins will usher in a recovery this year after a price cut in December, and it is not ruled out that other polyolefin producers will follow suit and increase their quotations.
